One Arm Dumbbell Row

The one arm dumbbell row is a great exercise for you back, it works the largest muscle in the back called the latissimus dorsi. The other names that you might heard people call them are “Lats” or “Wings”, The Lats are usually used any time that you pull something example:  when you open a car door or  fridge door you usually use this muscle.

This exercise can be done on the floor, chair or ball. First secure the resistance tubing around an object. From the seated position, grab hold of tubing handles and fully extend your arms. Pull the tubing to your abdomen. Slowly return to the starting position and repeat the movement.

When doing this seated row exercise make sure that your back is straight and keep your chest up high at all times. This will make sure that you’re in the proper position. As you pull the resistance tubing towards your abdomen make sure that your elbows are close to your body, and make sure to exhale as you pull the tubing to your abdomen.

Step 1

Grasp resistance tubing. Sit down with arms extended.

Step 2

Pull the tubing into the abdomen, then exhale

Step 3

Return to starting position and repeat several times.
